Active livingBased at Bangor Street Community Centre the Active Living sessions are aimed at men and women of any age, shape or size who suffer from heart problems or have had a heart attack. The session is suitable for those who have been on the Heart Manual Rehabilitation Programme or completed Phase 3 Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme at the hospital. These classes are recommended as the next step to a healthier lifestyle. Classes are single sex and are designed to activate your mind and body in a safe and supported environment offering a variety of equipment which will help to tone and strengthen your muscles. They are taken by qualified exercise instructors with specific training and knowledge in cardiac exercise. Referral to sessions may be through your cardiac nurse or local GP practice. The instructor will then give you an individual assessment and advice to help you perform the exercise safely and effectively. As your ability and fitness improves the instructor will recommend further activities that may be suitable for you to move into and continue to enjoy. Sessions are at Bangor St on Thursdays:
