Blackburn North Healthy Living Centre

Borwick hall residential

borwick2

A group of 17 - 19 year olds went on a training weekend to Borwick Hall in October.  The group had received funding from Neighbourhood Renewal for Ł2,500 which they bought music technology equipment with.

Over the weekend, facilitated by the Community Music Project and the Healthy Living Centre, the group learnt about videoing and editing, music technology, graphics and design and using musical instruments.  The group had already had experience of using the equipment but the residential was an opportunity to put all these skills together and create a piece of work.  After developing a story, it was filmed within Borwick Hall and then a music track was put to it.  The evenings were spent playing football and plenty of games!

The aim of this project is for young people to be trained in music technology, so that they can create music and videos about health with younger children.
