Re Development of Men’s Gym Facilities

The Community Association in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council’s Neighbourhood Engagement Section and Blackburn North Healthy Living Centre is planning to re-develop the men’s gym by providing new equipment and re painting it.

The results were: 87.8% of the men were not satisfied with the present gym facilities, while on the other hand 12.2% of the men were satisfied with what they were getting.48.4% of the men thought that the gym was too small while 36.3% of believed that all the equipment in the gym needs to be changed.27.2% of the men reflected that the standard of the gym was very poor as far as the appearance of the gym was concerned.30.3% of the men prioritized cable cross over the rest of the machines. 27.2% of the men opted for weight machines making it as the second most popular machine. 15.1% of the men asked for cardio vascular machines. Cross trainer was also popular, and 12.1% of the men thought that it should become a part of the new gym. Treadmill, smith machine, calve machine and chest press were equally popular among the men, having percentage of 6%. The least in demand were row machine, bicycle and ab machine having percentage of 3%. 33.3% of the men informed that they would like to have new benches in the gym while 39.3% wanted a better sound system. 15.1% would like to have better showers facilities. 6% of the men asked for a steam room/Jacuzzi and 12.1 % of the men wanted water machines for the gym.
